Troxel LLC, the worldwide leader in ASTM/SEI-certified equestrian helmets, today unveiled an interactive version of its 114-year history using the new Facebook Timeline.
Facebook’s new visually oriented format showcases key historical events dating all the way back to 1898, the year Troxel was founded. The timeline format reveals Troxel’s 20th anniversary since its introduction of the first ASTM approved equestrian lightweight ventilated helmet in 1992.
“It was fascinating to look back at our brand’s history and see the many innovations that have come from Troxel,” says Karisa Dern, Troxel Marketing Manager.
The new cover photo displays a mix of Troxel Facebook fans and product ambassadors, such as: Julie Goodnight, Lynn Palm, Chrissa Hoffman and Kim Gentry.Troxel’s Facebook page, which has almost 6,000 likes, is a great resource for riders. It offers news, fit tips, product announcements, engaging photos and contests.
“We are looking forward to further engaging with our fans with the new features Facebook has released,” says Dern. “We are seeing a steady increase in fans using the Facebook platform to share their stories and interact with not only the brand but other users.”
Troxel has been a leader in safety innovation, with contributions ranging from advancements in the bicycle industry to life-saving children’s car seats for the automotive industry. When, in 1990, Troxel spun off from its parent company to enter the equestrian market, certified lightweight ventilated helmets did not exist. Catalyzed by the success of its first schooling helmet, and followed thereafter by the first certified show helmet, Troxel quickly emerged as the world’s leading provider of ASTM / SEI certified equestrian helmets.
Other key milestones are:
- 1992 – Troxel introduced the first ASTM approved equestrian lightweight ventilated helmet.
- 1996 – Troxel introduced the Grand Prix, the first ASTM certified English hunt-cap style helmet.
- 1999 – Troxel introduced the first ASTM certified Western helmet, the Dakota Duratec™.
