What I wear: When I compete, I wear a cowboy hat with a basic shape, but many ACTHA competitors choose helmets for safety. I like a basic long-sleeve button-up top; jeans with a higher rise, like the Wrangler Ultimate Riding Jean; and boots with a walking heel. If there’s any chance of rain, I always pack a slicker.
Trend spotting: ACTHA events are really
a melting pot of style. Every woman wears what best suits her tastes and comfort. Bling is coming into the events through the younger generation, but a lot of us choose a classic look, too.
Time to dig into your closet and see what you can put together (or go shopping!) to update your look. Check out the rest of the Competitive Couture in the April issue of Horse & Rider Magazine.
