My Lucky Day...

I just ordered a Liberty helmet to replace my 5-year-old Troxel schooling helmet. My now retired helmet, I'm sure, saved my senses from a couple of minor unscheduled dismounts. But, this incident was when I leading my horse with his bridle on. It happened so fast that I had no time to react.

A grumpy mare at our stables lashed out at my sweet horse. My horse swung towards me to avoid the mare and, in the process, whacked me on the side of my head with his bit. I lost my balance and I hit the ground with a thud. Fortunately, I still had my helmet on. I stood-up back up with no injuries. The cosmetic outer shell of the helmet was cracked and scuffed.

Thank you Troxel for making very durable/safe helmets. Ta-dah, I live another day to spend with my horse =)
