Up until this past Saturday I thought I was pretty much invincible. As an 18 year old I’m sure that is understandable. Like every other Saturday since I started riding I went down to the barn and got my school horse, Buddy, ready for our lesson. Buddy is a little stubborn and does not like doing anything the easy way so after fighting him to walk we started practicing my reins at a trot. However this day I need to use a Dressage whip for a little extra motivation but, it went terribly wrong. Buddy spooked and jolted one way and since all I had was a bareback pad and reins I flipped over his ear and landed on my behind and back. Although I had a protective vest on I ended up fracturing 2 vertebrae in my lower back. Had I not worn my Troxel Spirit helmet 2 fractured vertebrae could have been severe head trauma. I am so grateful that Troxel puts so much emphasis on the safety of their products. I will always use a Troxel helmet when riding, it saved my life.
