On April 26th, 2008, my 7 year old daughter Krysten went riding on a Charity trail ride benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, along with her father and a family friend.
During this ride, her horse was spooked into running, and she was unable to regain control, resulting in being thrown from her horse.
She landed on her back and hit her head on a very hard piece of rock.
Had she not been wearing her Troxel Sport helmet, she would have
cracked the back of her skull open.
It is my personal belief that in all likely hood, have been killed. The helmet Styrofoam edge was cracked clean through at the back, right where the spine meets the base of the skull. Had she not been wearing it, it would have been her skull.

What an incredible story, thank you for sharing Jessica!
I had a similar situation with my Appaloosa “Dotty.” She is the sweetest horse in the world and she was spooked by a bee and I feel off. I thank God everyday for my Troxel helmet. Thank you for sharing your story.
Yay, Krysten! Good job getting back up after a hard fall–and thank goodness for your Troxel.
