Big Things Can Happen on a Little Pony!

I was at riding camp where we ride bareback and was the only one riding a pony while everyone else rode a big Quarter Horse. We began to lope and noticed that he was extremly bouncy. Seconds later I fell off onto my hip and hit my head. I got back on and continued to ride until I fell again on the same spots. Thanks to my Troxel Spirit helmet, I had no injury at all except for a slight bruise on my hip. Just two days before, the advanced riding class I am in watched a helmet safety video! THANKS SO MUCH for putting so much research into a helmet that has saved SO many lives!

  1. Troxel Staff says

    Dear Jennifer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your accident testimonial with the Troxel Staff and with visitors to Troxel’s Safety Resource Center website. Troxel was started by a physician who is very dedicated to the safety of equestrians, and is committed to providing only ASTM approved / SEI certified safety helmets to consumers.

It is very important to understand that the ASTM approved / SEI certified safety helmet you were wearing is designed to only withstand one impact. In the event of a fall, hairline fractures can form in the condensed foam EPS liner, and these hairline fractures can compromise your helmet’s ability to successfully absorb a second impact.

Troxel offers a 2-year Accident Replacement program where if you have a fall within a two year period from your Troxel helmet’s purchase date, you are eligible to receive a discounted cost on a replacement helmet of the same kind. Please follow the link for further details regarding Troxel’s Accident Replacement program.

Again, we appreciate you sharing your accident testimonial.
