Kylar Terlip

Barrel racing’s rising star Kylar Terlip, 12, began the sport when she was just five years old. In 2010, the Frontenac, Kansas native became WPRA Finals Junior Average Champion riding "Fire Powered Jet," a horse she had only owned for three months. In 2011 she repeated as the WPRA Finals Junior Average Champion and also won the WPRA Junior World Year end title. In 2012 she has added Co-Champion of the prestige’s Josey Junior World Championship to her list of accomplishments.

Terlip is a 6th grade student at Louisburg Elementary School. Well-rounded with excellent grades, she not only rides a top-notch barrel horse but she also plays basketball, volleyball, and enjoys math (but would rather pass on art class).

"I may only be ten years old, but have been competing in barrel racing for seven years. As I progressed in my riding and competition level, my parents would not allow me to ride without a helmet. The other contestants were wearing their cowboy hats and looked so cool—I really wanted to look like them. Now, I am so happy my Troxel Sierra Helmet is part of my gear! During one open competition last year, my horse fell, I flipped upside down and my horse took off with me still attached. With my head bouncing only inches from the turf, my Troxel Helmet saved me from serious injury! Now when I meet other girls and their parents during events, they believe wearing a helmet like mine is the best thing to do. I am looking forward to all my events this year and will be wearing my cool Troxel Sierra Helmet. Thank you so much, Troxel!"
