We weren't even moving.

I was practicing a dressage test for an upcoming show, and I had a copy of the test in my pants waistband in the event I couldn't remember the next movement. I warmed the horse up, and then went down the centerline to practice my halt. Once I was stopped, I pulled the test out of my waistband and unfolded it to read. The sound of the paper must have scared my horse, he freaked out and the next thing I know, I'm on the ground and the horse is getting as far away from the scary piece of paper as he possibly can. Granted, I fell on my butt, but I was very, very glad to be wearing my helmet. The horse is 17 hands and I cringe at the thought of what may have happened had I not been wearing my helmet and landed differently. I probably wouldn't have been able to make it to the show, let alone get back on the horse!
