horses and barn cats

I was sitting on my horse, standing in place, as I was talking to a riding buddy. Thankfully I had not unbuckled or taken my helmet off, when one of the barn cats decided to jump up and dig her claws into my horse. My horse was startled, bucked HARD and I went off, landing first on my but then fell back and hit my head. If I hadn't been wearing a helmet, I am certain I would have had a head injury.
