SPONSORSHIP: THE WINDY RIDGE RIDERS DRILL TEAM
The Windy Ridge Riders Drill Team earned first place in the 2006 WSCA Precision Drill Team Competition labor day weekend, and became the first adult Western drill team in the world to wear helmets during the Minnesota State Fair Competition. The Windy Ridge Riders Drill Team performs with 30 riders. The team has ridden in the Minnesota State Fair's Western Saddle Club Association drills competition for more than twenty years. They took third place at the 2005 State Fair and tied for first in 2004. This year the team chose to wear helmets during their Minnesota State Fair performance, in support of the upcoming Minnesota 4-H rule, which will become effective in 2007 requiring all 4-H'ers participating in any 4-H sponsored mounted activity to wear ASTM/SEI approved headgear, properly fastened. Troxel donated a helmet for each rider on the team. The Windy Ridge Riders Drill Team wear the all-new Troxel Sierra helmet, designed exclusively for Western riders.
