SPONSORSHIP: SHILOH LEAVITT
A helmet is now an essential part of Shiloh Leavitt’s riding attire, due to an accident that almost cost her her life. Shiloh and older sister Mesa Leavitt were riding together to their barn in a John Deere Gator and accidentally ran into a tree. Mesa endured a knee injury and Shiloh fractured bones in her face that required serious facial reconstructive surgery and a considerable amount of time in the hospital. Soon after the accident, parents Richard and Heidi Leavitt told the girls that they would have to wear helmets from that point on, especially while riding their horses. This year alone Shiloh has accomplished more than many riders complete in a lifetime.
