SPONSORSHIP: EVENTING TEAM - CALIFORNIA & HAWAII
Troxel is a proud sponsor of the USEF's Area VI's 2007 North American Junior and Young Riders' Championship Eventing Teams. The North American Young Rider
Championships (NAYRC), is North America's premier equestrian event for young riders, ages 14-21. Young equestrians come from all over North America including
Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States, and many of the Caribbean Islands as well as South America, to compete in this event. Many of the world's top
equestrians, including Olympic and World Cup champions, received their first taste of an international competition at the NAYRC's. Such notable names as
Greg Best, Karen O'Connor, Heather Mason, Gina Miles and Buck Davidson started their successful careers at the NAYRC. This year's championship took place
on July 31-August 5, 2007 in Lexington Virginia.
Troxel equipped the United States Equestrian Federation's, AREA VI (California & Hawaii) Eventing teams with our latest modern English show helmet, The
Reliance. The riders competed both as individuals and on teams of three or four.
The competition began on Thursday for the Eventers with the CCI** Dressage phase. Jennie Brannigan was 2nd at the end of the day and Olivia Loiacono
placed 14th. When the scores were posted on Friday, for the CCI* Team Dressage Phase, both Tara McKenna Polkabla and Maxance Mc Mannamy were tied for
6th. On Saturday, the cross country phase, both Jennie and Olivia skipped around their course incurring neither time nor jump penalties. The One Star
riders had some time added to both Tara and Meredith's scores, but all jumped clean. On Sunday, the stadium phase, Olivia and her horse Subway jumped
a clear round and placed 4th in the Individual overall competition of the CCI**. Jennie presented her horse Kozmo, at the final horse inspection, but
unfortunately he did not pass and they were eliminated. In the CCI*, both Meredith and Max had one rail each. Max and her horse Beacon Hill placed
4th in the Individual overall competition of the CCI* and Meredith and Sentenial K finished 18th. Tara and Current Leader withdrew prior to the
Horse inspection on Sunday.
A highlight each year at the closing ceremonies of the NAYRC's when the "Style Awards" are presented to an individual from each discipline,
Dressage (Dressage Trot Award), Eventing (Field Award) and Jumping (Baretta Award). However, this year the Ground Juries, Veterinarians,
Technical Delegates, FEI Stewarts, Appeals Committee and the NAYRC Organizing Committee, felt that in the discipline of Eventing, they could
not award the "Field Perpetual Trophy" to just one individual, but needed to award a team. As not only did each of these individuals show
"style" throughout the week, when mounted, in their form of manners, their overall demeanor around the competition grounds, at the organized
functions, but also showed these qualities as a Team as well. The Field Award was presented to Area VI's Junior Team of Maxance Mc Manamy,
Tara McKenna Polkabla and Meredith Ragno.
Troxel would like to congratulate USEF's Area VI's Eventing Team of California and Hawaii, and for choosing Troxel as their choice in performance headgear.
