Premium Derby Helmet System
After Jeanne Morrison, a competitive Tennessee Walker equestrian was injured in a riding accident, she entered into a product development partnership with Troxel to create a ASTM/SEI certified helmet in the style of a fur Derby hat worn in the show ring. Together Jeanne and Troxel created the Derby, the equestrian industry's first classic-folded, creased-brim Derby that provides ASTM/SEI certified protection. Jeanne and her daughter Mary now proudly compete in their Derby helmets while inspiring other saddle seat riders to follow suit. At the 68th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville Tennessee, Watch and Bedazzled and Mary Morrison were recently named World Grand Champions in the Owner-Amateur Youth Riders on Walking Mares, Riders 12-17 Years wearing the Troxel Derby helmet. Jeanne also won a blue ribbon at Celebration while wearing the Troxel Derby helmet in the Owner-Amateur Riders 50 years and older on Plantation Pleasure Walking Horses, Lite Shod class.
